Daihatsu Terios news - Daihatsu's frugal new Terios - 2006

Published: 15 Feb 2006

Billed as a 'politically correct' SUV, the Daihatsu Terios claims to have the lowest emissions in the compact SUV class.

The Terios, which we've seen recently at motor shows as the D-Compact concept, also returns 40.4mpg around town.

We'll get our first proper look at the finished Terios at the Geneva motor show before it goes on sale in the UK in May with prices starting at £12,995.

All Terios models will come with air-conditioning, four airbags, a CD player and parking sensors as standard.

There's a bigger, sharply styled body, and the interior has been greatly improved with more passenger and luggage space.

Permanent four-wheel drive helps the new Terios retain its decent off-road ability, and Daihatsu promises a more small hatch-like drive on-road, while a new 103bhp, 1.5-litre engine provides improved performance and economy.
