Meet the bus that's a moving television

Published: 16 Dec 2013

This is Willie, a bus concept that allows videos to be projected on its panels without obscuring its passengers' view of the outside world.

Dreamed up by designer Tad Orlowski, Willie is made up of transparent LCD screens (that's actual, real-life technology, by the way), that can be used for tourist information and advertising. Rather like this vapourware Toyota Fun Vii concept.

Orlowski says: "The city bus can be transformed into a mobile billboard displaying advertisements or film clips or provide passengers with additional information and entertainment such as route plans, weather reports, press and TV coverage as well as tourist information."

Which is all very well, but would a massive Willie playing the trailer for Sharknado 2: The Second One not be a bit... distracting for motorists? And what does it screen after the 9pm watershed?
