The Geely Vision Starburst is a... *sweet* new concept
Apparently, the Vision Opal Fruits - sorry, Starburst - represents an ‘expanding cosmos’
“In the conceptual design form, bursting energy and constant outward tension result in a twisted profile with curved surfaces that appear to rotate and stretch.”
Anyone got any idea what Geely is on about? Nope, us neither. There’s much design speak going on here.
Anyway, this is the Chinese brand’s Vision Starburst concept – which will apparently inspire upcoming models but won’t go into production itself. Bit of a shame that, because frankly, it looks quite fantastic.
The Vision Starburst is a four-door saloon/coupe thing, complete with suicide-scissor doors, inspired by the whole of space and time. We’re big fans of that Lexus-like front end and the bonkers rear lightbar.
The interior is similarly shaped, with a large central screen and an instrument display that flows into the rest of the dashboard. Very neon. There’s no word on what would power the Vision Starburst (if it were real), but don’t count on a whopping great V8.
Geely owns a number of other manufacturers of course, including Lynk & Co, Lotus, Volvo and Polestar – could these design elements end up at one of those brands? Also, has anyone else got a sudden urge for some Opal Fruits?
