Check out these Hispano Suiza concepts designed by students
The Spanish firm has been asking students to reinterpret the 1911 T45
If you want something done well, do it yourself. If you want something done a little leftfield, ask a load of students to do it. That seems to be the tactic employed by Hispano Suiza, which has deployed students from the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED, awks) to design some 120th anniversary concepts cars.
Yep, although it hasn’t exactly been producing cars all the way through, Hispano Suiza was technically founded in 1904. It’s been making a comeback recently with the all-electric, 1,000bhp Carmen, and it seems as though a second car (or at least a proper concept) is planned for 2024.
The IED students were asked to reinterpret the 1911 Hispano Suiza T45 – a car also known as the Alfonso XIII after the King of Spain that commissioned it. Hispano Suiza says: “The students were asked to explore and design the exterior, interior and describe the user experience of the Alfonso XIII of the future, using the technology currently available, as well as their unstoppable imagination.”
Check out their concepts above and the original T45 below, then feel free to mark their work in the comments section…
