Bertone Mantide news - Reassuringly expensive - 2009
The price is out on the unmissable Bertone Mantide we showed you last week. As you might have guessed, it’s not cheap.
Two million dollars of not-cheap, to be precise. Or £1.3 million. That’s more than a Veyron. That’s a lot of cash.
Apart from the 0-62mph time of 3.2 seconds, the 217mph top speed and the, er, striking looks, you’re paying for exclusivity. Bertone says it has received ‘between three and five’ Mantides orders already (so ‘four’, then?), and is planning a production run of no more than 10 cars.
Still, it’s a mighty wodge of moolah. $2,000,000 is approximately 20 times the price of the Corvette ZR1 on which the Mantide is based (and, incidentally, enough to keep LDV vans running for a whole week).
Nonetheless, we can’t imagine Bertone will find it difficult to find ten deep-pocketed punters to stump up the cash. Anyone joining the waiting list?
