The Lamborghini Miura from The Italian Job is up for sale
Fancy owning a classic Lambo from a classic film? Best get saving
If you've watched The Italian Job (and if you haven't, seriously, why not?), you'll know it sees a Lamborghini Miura meet its sad fate. Thankfully, however, the filmmakers didn’t actually slam a hugely desirable, pristine Lambo into a chunk of heavy machinery.
That would have been stupid. And expensive. The car so famously shunted over the edge of an Alp was already a wreck, but there was a second car. A non-wreck. And it’s for sale at Cheshire Classic Cars, a classic car seller based in, um, Cheshire.
That’s right, you can own the very same Lamborghini Miura LP400 that appeared in the first five minutes of The Italian Job. Delivered to the first of its five owners immediately after filming, it’s covered just 11,800 miles since new. One of only three 1968 cars finished in ‘Arancino Miura’, it’s the only one which teams the finish with a particularly kitsch white leather interior.
The engine isn’t the original – though the old block is included in the sale – and the paint was redone a few years ago, but who cares? This isn’t just any Miura, it’s the Miura.
The price? No idea. Many millions, judging by other equally splendiferous Miuras we’ve seen recently. But none of those was in The Italian Job…
