The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power

  • Last weekend, around £500 million worth of machinery decamped to a totally unpronounceable location in Cheshire to engage in some speed. That location was Cholmondeley for the fourth annual Pageant of Power . Essentially, it's a northern version of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and as you already know what a ‘Goodwood' is, here are some facts about the CPOP.

Fact 1: Over 1,200 cars were on static display.
Fact 2: 175 racing cars did over 2,500 laps of the circuit covering 4,000 miles.
Fact 3: Over 2,050 straw bales acted as crash barriers weighing over 700 tonnes.
Fact 4: There was an RAF/Army combat assault display.
Fact 5: We still can't pronounce the name properly.
