"The most beautiful car ever made," is what Enzo Ferrari had to say about the Jaguar E-type. Judging by your reaction to our story on the new Eagle Low Drag GT, 40 years later, that statement appears to still ring true.
After Eagle had put 7,000 labour-intensive hours of work into reimagining and updating Malcolm Sayer's legendary design, they came to the Top Gear track to let us have a go in the £695,000 Jaguar remix. Unfortunately, as soon as they threw us the keys, the mother of all thunderstorms descended on Dunsfold.
This would normally spell disaster for a photoshoot. But thanks to the Low Drag's trick chrome paint reflecting the heavy clouds and sodden runway in its stunning bodywork, plus the 1,038kg kerb weight and 346bhp inline-six doing it's thing to get the race-inspired E sideways, we walked away with a SD card full of unique images.
