Video: Jag's F-Type SVR sounds incredible in a tunnel
Jag borrows NY tunnel to show-off SVR's new exhaust. We approve
Down tools and watch this video. Ahead of last week’s New York Motor Show, Jaguar borrowed New York's Park Avenue 422-metre long tunnel to illustrate the aural delights of the fastest ever F-Type. How? By driving through it at great speed, of course.
See, the SVR is even louder than the regular F-Type thanks to a new titanium and Inconel (the stuff F1 exhausts are made from) exhaust, which Jag says reduces backpressure and saves 16kg. The valves that pop open to ramp up the noise at higher engine speeds have been calibrated to open sooner, delivering the “more distinctive, purposeful, harder-edged” exhaust note more often.
You can read all about the SVR by clicking or tapping on these words. But watch that video first. Ideally wearing headphones, and with much volume.
