Jaguar XK news - Swingin' Sixties - 2008

Published: 24 Jul 2008

The Jaguar XK turns 60 this year. Though it has changed just a fraction over the last six decades and to commemorate the occasion, Jaguar unveiled a special edition XK at the Brit Motor Show.

(What we wouldn't give for a wire-wheels-and-split-windscreen version now.)

It's called the XK60 and is, essentially, a bit of a bodykit job. No matter, though - it looks awesome.

Round the front, there's a new front spoiler and grille mesh, while the back gets a new valance and shiny new tailpipes. Oh, and a nice new set of 20-inch wheels.

They're only subtle tweaks to the XK's already-rather-nice looks, but they're the sort of subtle tweaks we like.

Besides some shiny chrome stuff in the cabin, the rest is stock XK - so it's the same naturally aspirated V8 under the bonnet.

The XK60 costs the same as the standard XK, and is available in both coupe and convertible form, so why wouldn't you?
