Brits love cleaning their cars so much that there's now a two-day festival dedicated to it
Waxstock is a newly extended festival that celebrates our obsession for keeping motors looking mint
One bucket or two? Sponge or mitt? Hose or pressure washer? When it comes to car cleaning, we’re as keen as anyone on this site – but we’d be the first to hold our hands up and admit we’re by no means experts.
So, our interest was well and truly piqued when we discovered there’s an entire festival dedicated to the art. Waxstock (great name) is Europe’s largest gathering on all things car cleaning, and this year – its 10th anniversary and the first ever two dayer – will be held over 22-23 July at Coventry Arena.
We're told that Waxstock is attended by the most experienced detailers and car care professionals in the business, with around 60 exhibitors on hand this year to share their knowledge with us mucky mortals.
Turns out you can add cleaning cars to our love for queuing, the pub, and fish and chips here in Britain, with the industry reportedly worth £1.7 billion in the UK according to research by IBISWorld. And you thought that old rag and a bucket would do the job...
