Advertisement - Page continues belowThen comes the post-war BMW 502 Coupé and Convertible, both of which rub flanks with the chubby 503 Coupé.
Here is its steering wheel.
Representing the sixties there's the Bertone-designed 3200 CS. Important thing, this - it's a "New Class" car, which meant that it got a four-pot M10 engine, fully independent suspension, MacPherson struts and disc brakes up front. That's quite the techgasm for its era.
Then comes the 3.0 CSi and that rather lovely fully open glasshouse. Penned by Karmann and made famous by the tremendous racer built for the European Touring Car Championship, this put BMW on the sporty map...
Advertisement - Page continues belowAs did the E24 635CSi, which also makes an appearance. Though, in standard flavour, it was definitely more of GT. The M-sport version did get an adapted version of the awesome M1 racer's engine, though. But it was still a wallowy old hector. Crucially however, it had a pointy sharknose and pillarless windows, both of which win.
Then there's this - the 8 Series. Which has a Richard Hammond-shaped exponent. See his car here.
