CarFest South returned to Hampshire last weekend, where our man Chris Evans hosted the second of this year’s CarFest shows over the bank holiday.
The show, which first kicked off back in 2012, took in three days of music, food and cars, all in the name of raising money for Children in Need. In fact, since 2012, Evans’ CarFest shows have raised more than £3.5 million for the charity; a figure expected to rise significantly once this year’s shows have been accounted for.
It was at none other than Jody Scheckter’s farm – Laverstoke Park Farm – where CarFest South went down. Scheckter, the 1979 Formula One world champion, even drove his own F1 icons up and down his driveway for the enjoyment of the sell-out crowd.
There was more, too. Ross Brawn and Nick Mason were among the celebrity guests in attendance, as well as music from Take That, Paloma Faith, Jools Holland and Seasick Steve.
Evans also called in The Stig, too, as you will have seen from this picture here.
