Chris Harris: “I suppose I have to ask myself; do I think it was worth it? Because it’s not the best driving nor the fastest or best handling supercar I’ve ever driven, let alone hypercar. But there’s just something so appealing about it. When it’s up and running – when it’s up and running – it’s unlike any other driving experience I’ve had.

“And at the end of it all, this is an engine from a Formula One car. And that… that’s probably enough for me.”

CH: “This is bold new territory for Lotus. Yes, on the road it’s bigger than an Elise, but frankly there are pencil cases that are bigger than an Elise. But I’m on a damp Welsh road, and this is Lotus territory. This car is sublime in these conditions. It just glides over the surface. It breathes with the road. Lotus is better at making cars for bumpy British roads than any other sports car company.”

Freddie Flintoff: “Supercars. Because here’s the thing. Whenever we talk about supercars, it always tends to be about those big numbers. Power. Speed. Price.”

Paddy McGuinness: “But we got to thinking. Surely the real point in supercars is how they make you feel? Giving the lucky so-and-so behind the wheel, the time of their life. And for that, does bigger really mean better?”
