Audi will launch 12 new cars for 2016
Carmaker to invest €3 billion and push electrification
Audi's boss Rupert Stadler has announced a staggering 12 new cars for 2016. Deep breath, here we go.
The new A5 and S5 coupes will launch, using powertrains from the A4 and S4. Talking of which the S4 saloon and Avant also count as part of the dozen for the year, though strictly speaking the saloon was announced (but not launched) last autumn. The A4 family will also be wrapped by the A4 Allroad Avant.
There will also be a new Q5. This one is to be built at a brand-new plant in Mexico. We'll see it mid-year.
The big Q7 gets a PHEV version, the eTron. And the SQ7, with its staggeringly complex diesel V8.
Finally, at the other end of the SUV spectrum, the little Q2, shown only this week at the Geneva salon.
We'll have more details later today as we grill Stadler and fellow Audi high-ups on the subject.
