Americans, get your Audi RS6 in Nogaro Blue
Audi's burly estate pays tribute to its RS2 ancestor with the RS Tribute Edition
Americans! The good news just keeps coming. Well, it does in the world of fast estates, anyhow. Not only do you get the new Audi RS6 Avant, you get the option of Nogaro Blue, too.
Well, you do if you’re swift enough to snap up one of the mere 25 of these RS Tribute Editions that trumpet the RS6’s arrival in the US. It “pays homage to the ’94 RS2 Avant with unique interior and exterior design elements", chief among those elements being that RS2’s signature paint colour.
It’s complemented by much black detailing, 22in five-spoke alloys and red brake calipers, while on the inside there’s denim blue highlights and humongous new sports seats.
Beneath it all is the same, near-600bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 of regular RS6s, allowing a 0-60mph time of 3.5secs. ‘Enough’, according to anyone outside of a tiny, mad bunch of German tuning houses.
The RS Tribute Edition costs $136,800. A smidge over £100,000 at current exchange rates, and probably something resembling ‘value’ given the spec on offer. It's not the first time we've seen an RS6 in this colour, but familiarity has bred very little contempt. Are you with us?
