Americans, the Audi RS6 will cost you $109,995
Your new favourite car is finally available Stateside. Hide the credit cards
Welcome, our American friends, to your new favourite car. No longer will you be deprived of Audi’s most potent estate – sorry, wagon – as the fourth gen RS6 is making its way Stateside.
You knew that already, of course, because as soon as you first saw the wide-arched, 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8-engined Avant you were probably searching down the back of the sofa – sorry, couch – for that all-important loose change.
Well, we hope your efforts were fruitful, because Audi has announced that prices will start at $109,995 for Top Gear’s Family Car of the Year 2019.
Expensive, yes. But also just under $2,000 less than the Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon.
If you need any reminding, the Audi’s Vee Eight sends 592bhp and 590lb ft of torque to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Zero-62mph is dispatched in just 3.6 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 155mph.
Oh, and your dogs can come along for the ride.
What do you reckon then Americans? Which colour - sorry, color - will you be speccing yours in?
