Alpine reveals A110 pricing for 2024, and the 'R Le Mans' will cost... £122k!
The entry-level car costs just over £54k, while the range-topping Le Mans edition is more than double that amount. Yikes!
Alpine has reshuffled the pricing of its A110, as the much-loved sports car heads towards the twilight years of its production before the French marque goes all-electric. The entire range will now benefit from increased standard equipment, with said range consisting of the standard A110, ‘GT’, ‘S’ and ‘R’ trim levels, and yo-yo-ing to as much as £121,990 for the ‘Le Mans’ edition. Let’s start slow before we build up to the facepalm, shall we?
The standard A110, with its 1.8-litre four-cylinder 252bhp engine, comes in at £54,490. You now get 18in ‘Serac’ wheels and improved 320mm ventilated brake discs, while Alpine proudly states electronically retractable mirrors are now standardised across the range. We should hope so since the 2007 Ford Fiesta 'Climate' boasts the same trait.
One up is the A110 GT from £65,490, with a power jump to 300bhp among the more significant changes. Diamond-cut 18in alloys and chromed side monograms are the main exterior changes, while an upgraded audio system and heated seats also feature.
The penultimate trim level and the first to be further sub-categorised is the S (£67,490). The still-300bhp output can be better put to the road with a set of semi-slick tyres and an optional aero kit, so think of this as Alpine’s version of BMW M’s ‘Competition’ package. You also get black mascara headlamps and can opt for the ‘Enstone Edition’ for another £6,500. The latter is finished in matt grey and will be limited to just 300 units across its run.
And last but certainly not least is the hardcore R - Alpine’s most track-focused, hardcore A110. While the power and torque remain comparable to the S, the R has a pool of carbonised fins, scoops and wings to help defy the laws of physics. Top speed is also increased to 174mph, regardless of which of the three versions you choose: the standard R (£96,990), ‘Turini’ (£91,490) or ‘Le Mans’ (£121,960).
No, there aren’t any typos there. The Turini is cheaper than the standard R, and the Le Mans edition is similarly priced to a Porsche Cayman GT4 RS. We hope Alpine provides owners with an actual seat in its 2024 Le Mans hypercar for that amount, further complemented by personal masseurs to offer daily Turkish baths throughout ownership.
