The Alpine A110 will cost £51,805
Alpine gives us prices for the (sold out) A110 Premiere Edition...
Alpine has finally given us prices for the A110 – and just as we expected, it’s around £50K for the Premiere Edition, of which all 1,955 examples were sold within five days of it going on sale.
Its £51,805 asking price makes it more or less the same price as a Porsche Cayman S, which gets the option of a manual transmission (unlike the Alpine) and substantially more power (345bhp in the Porsche plays 249bhp in the Alpine).
But the Alpine is much lighter than the Cayman (1,103kg vs 1,430kg), so their 0-62mph times are basically identical. The Alpine is more economical too, and because it’s a Premiere Edition, better equipped as standard. Getting the Porsche up to the same spec costs thousands.
So the Alpine is probably a better match for a regular Cayman, which starts at £42,897, claims 296bhp, 1,410kg, and 0-62mph in 5.1secs – half a second slower than the Alpine. We've been running a modestly specified non-S Cayman as a long-term test car – its list price is £52K, and it doesn’t have cruise control.
Prices for the Pure and Legende editions haven’t been announced, but we’re reliably informed the Pure will be “significantly less” and the Legende “a bit less” than the Premiere. Which is good news, considering the Premiere is sold out anyway.
