Buying
What should I be paying?
A quick reminder then: given that it is soon to be replaced, you can now only buy the Grandland in top spec Ultimate trim. That means it’s really rather pricey, and the car that replaces it later this year will probably come with a lower entry price.
So, the cheapest Grandland that you can buy at the time of writing – the 1.2-litre petrol with a six-speed manual – costs £35,395 or £289.67 per month. Ouch. In previous specs you could have Design trim and a £29,470 entry price.
If you want the auto gearbox with the standard petrol engine that’ll be £37,045, while the hybrid with its six-speed DCT is £38,335 or £329.40 per month.
Ultimate trim does bring with it a hefty amount of kit as standard. You get adaptive LED lights, 19in wheels, two-tone paint, a powered bootlid and black badging on the outside, while inside there’s wireless phone charging, a 10in touchscreen, sporty front seats with Alcantara upholstery and a ‘leather-effect’ steering wheel. As you might be able to tell, some of the interior materials aren’t quite up to scratch.
