Pagani Utopia review

Depends who you are, doesn’t it? We suspect many owners would have been happy to pay two or three times the 2.15 million euros plus tax (£2,220,000 in the UK including your VAT) that Pagani charges. Oh well, they can put it into options and special requests… apparently the average spend on top is around £450,000.

We’re not talking massage seats here, we’re talking bespoke fittings where your imagination gets to run riot (and then Pagani presumably sends in the taste police to sort it out for you, before figuring out how to get whatever it is you want done through global homologation).

Buying a Utopia, or any Pagani is to join a family. The company is small and hasn’t made many cars. Only 150 Zondas were built, 300 Huayras. These 99 Utopias are the initial run. A roadster will presumably be along shortly, after that there’ll be others, one-offs and small batches.

This seems to be the secret to Paganis success. They now do a roaring trade in customer upgrades, with early Zonda’s coming back to have later kits and features fitted. As a result, used values are skyrocketing. There you go, the Utopia should be a depreciation buster.
