Koenigsegg Jesko review
Buying
What should I be paying?
Ah, the challenge of giving you any meaningful information about the purchase and running of a £2.85 million hypercar. The problem for us mere mortals is that it’s very hard for us to relate to the issues that buyers and owners of these cars face. The financial cost isn’t an issue.
What’s much more likely to irk is having to wait for their just-ordered car to arrive. Something that could take years given Koenigsegg only currently has the ability to build 30–40 per year. The other thing that might cause a bit of upset is fuel economy. Not for the cost, but for the frequency of stops to fill the 72-litre tank.
But any and all minor outlays pale beside the fact that provided the hypercar market stays as buoyant as it currently is (italics added for a reason…) you’re unlikely to lose any money. At the time of writing there’s only one Koenigsegg publicly listed for sale in the UK, a 1 of 25 Agera RS from 2015 that’s covered an encouraging 6,000 miles – and it’s listed at £3.5 million.
