GWM ORA 03 review

This is a fairly easy question to answer given the simplicity of ordering a 03 in the UK right now. The entry-level Pure+ trim costs £31,995, and for that you get almost everything that the top-spec Pro+ car gets.

Included as standard are 18in alloy wheels, sat nav, the leatherette seats, adaptive cruise control, reversing and 360 degrees cameras, keyless entry and start, LED headlights, wireless phone charging, electrically adjustable front seats and rear parking sensors.

Oh, and more safety systems than you can shake a big stick at. Including a driver-facing camera that will shout at you for not paying attention to the road if you so much as glance out of the side window. Yes, it is as annoying as it sounds.

Stepping up to the Pro+ bags the bigger battery with more range, and also nets you the heated, ventilated and massage-function seats, an auto-reversing and parking assistance system (plus parking sensors front and rear), and a panoramic glass roof. That one is £34,995, and it’s probably worth the £3k jump. Metallic paint and the two-tone interior finish both cost extra.

The Ora 03 comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and an eight-year/100,000-mile battery warranty. At the time of writing this, if you want to pay monthly Ora will offer you repayments of £275 over three years with a £3,500 deposit and an annual allowance of 8,000 miles.

Oh, and it’s worth noting that in this world of chip shortages and production delays, if you order a 03 today it’ll be delivered directly to your house in anything from a matter of days to six weeks. That’ll be a big draw for impatient buyers.
