Ferrari Portofino M review

This is where it gets sticky: cost. At £175,360 basic, the Portofino M is not a cheap car. It gets a long list of standard spec, but start nailing the options list and this thing gets to 200k with alarming alacrity. Carbon rear diffuser? £6,720. Carbon front spoiler? £3,360. Historic or special colour? Over seven grand. Bathe the interior in carbon and you’re looking at another ten grand, even down to a carbon fibre cupholder for £1,440. We’re not kidding. There’s even a full set of possible luggage combos, starting at £1,872 for a single suitcase, through many variants of weekend bag and trolley bags (1 w’end and 1 trolley bag costs £4,848), all the way to what is simply listed as ‘Handbag’ for £1,680. 

So be wary rather than wanton with the options list, or you’ll be burned. Saying that there’s a seven-year maintenance package, four-year warranty (with a fifth available as an option) and decent aftercare. Servicing is roughly every 12,500 miles (20k km) or yearly, and limited supply means the M should retain decent value. 

If we’re being honest, those lucky enough to be considering a Portofino M are probably not overly concerned with lease/PCP costs and the purchase price of 285/35 ZR20 tyres.
