Citroen Traction Avant review
Buying
What should I be paying?
I bet it was a lovely thing to own back in the day, and because of its innovative status it’s still held in high regard among collectors today. There’s a strong worldwide owners club and plenty of advice and guidance available.
Rust is the main worry, not least because the Traction Avant’s chassis had no drain holes drilled into it. Maintenance is also critical, an oil change needed every 1,500 miles as there was no oil filter built in.
Claimed economy was 10 litres per 100km – roughly 28mpg, and because so many were built and a good number are still around, prices range from £10,000 up to around £25,000. Fancy a project car that’s a little more restrained than a Nissan GT-R or BMW M3?
