Buying

What should I be paying?

Go on the BAC website and they list used cars for sale. This is something tiny sports car firms can do – maintain relations with customers and they’ll give you the car back to sell. Small numbers and high demand mean depreciation is low. This is what you need to bear in mind before slating the high asking price.

Upwards of £160k for the Mono, rising to £235k for the R, to save you flicking back to the Overview page. An early car (the Mono cost £102k when it first went on sale) is likely to have gone up in value (expect around £120k, while a recent low mileage 2.5 with some nice spec on it is likely to be around £180k.

Yes, about the spec. The Mono has options, and they’re costly. Here’s a few examples. You can have Dymag carbon composite wheels. They’re standard on the R, otherwise an additional £11,940. Same applies to the £11,820 carbon ceramic brakes. Then there’s the carbon. The world is your oyster. Pray for pearls.
