Woah, this is a V8-engined jet ski
The plan to V8ify just about everything on the planet continues apace
This is the Strand Craft V8 Daytona GT, and yes, the name gives the game away slightly, at least for boating enthusiasts. For the rest of us, this is a V8-engined jet ski. You may need a moment to process the concept.
The engine itself is a supercharged 6.2-litre unit – likely sourced from GM given that Strand Craft is a US-based company founded by Norwegian boat builder Kurt Strand. There’s no power figure given just yet, but we do know that the Daytona will be on the large side for a jet ski. Think over 5m long, 1.5m wide and weighing 567kg.
There’s a massive 15-inch LED touchscreen just behind the handlebars too, plus a ‘premium sound system’ and a cool box under the seat. There’s the option of much carbon fibre, or you can have a teak wood deck and wood inlays. Heck, you can even get an optional underwater camera and a shock absorbing seat.
Must sound rather special too. We can’t wait to have a go.
