Video: this is a Lego Avtoros Shaman 8x8

Oh yes. TG's favourite all-terrain vehicle now comes in more manageable Lego form

Published: 07 Jul 2016

Like the look of the mighty Avtoros Shaman, but concerned you don’t have space for a 4.8-tonne, 8x8 truck at home?

Worry no longer, for an intrepid internet user has got their Lego out and built an alternative. Meet a Shaman made of wee bricks.

That user is madoca1977, and as you’ll see if you click their name, they’re pretty handy at turning a pile of Lego Technic bits into some very real looking cars.

And very real acting cars, too, if this glorious little creation is anything to go by. All of the Shaman’s 8x8 tricks are present and correct, including its eight-wheel-steer system, which allows it to turn on a sixpence, or crab sideways in an eerie manner.

The video shows it climbing hills and clambering over obstacles with little fuss too, suspension soaking everything up. Its winch and escape hatch haven’t been missed out, either.

In fact the only thing this 2.5kg model can't do - which the full-size Shaman can - is float on water. We really hope they didn’t find that out by plunging straight into the river Volga, like we at Top Gear did…
