Even BMW’s baby cars are getting big kidney grilles
Won’t somebody please think of the children?! Toddlers become latest victims of controversial BMW design
Burdening the likes of the 4 Series, iX and M3 - you know, items bought by adults - with that kidney grille concept is one thing, but doing the same to a toy car for kids? Come on BMW, where is the humanity?
The company’s Mk4 Baby Racer has just been revealed, and it’s immediately clear that a generation of one-to-three-year-olds are going to be learning some harsh truths early. Namely that BMWs ain’t pretty.
Still, this new Baby Racer does at least bring with it a number of improvements, including a horn integrated into the redesigned 'cockpit' and a softer seat for maximum comfort.
Meanwhile the tyres are made from recycled materials and are meant to roll quietly, so you won’t be driven to distraction as junior perfects his or her powersliding skills on the kitchen floor.
White, blue and black colours are available with contrasting seats, and get this: all spare parts are available from selected BMW dealerships. As a ploy to get you back into the showroom, you’ve got to admit that’s genius.
Pre-order slots are open now (seriously, there’s a three-month wait for one of these things) with the BMW Baby Racer retailing at £116 in the UK. Or you could pick up It on DVD for a couple of quid and have the exact same effect on your kids’ psyche…
