Artist makes V12 out of bones

Monet's Water Lillies Picasso's Guernica. Constable's Haywain. Top Gear knows literally nothing about these things. Or any art. Look what a hash we made of the The North's Mima gallery.

But we do know about cars and engines and things that are bit insane. Like this Mercedes V12 replica by Eric van Hove, who stripped an oily Benz engine to its 465 components (not including nuts and bolts) and commissioned artists all over Morocco to replicate them.

Apparently, the goal was ‘pondering the economic and social dynamic between European and African industry'. We don't really know what this means. But we do know that the finished result, which is made from materials including ebony wood, mother- of-pearl, yellow copper, cow bone, goat bone, malachite of Midelt (isn't that a character from Game of Thrones?), and rumex.
