Video: watch a marksman blast clay pigeons from a donutting Ferrari

Philip Thurrold nails potshots from the passenger seat of an SA Aperta

Published: 07 Oct 2015

Shooting clay pigeons is hard. At least, it is if you try to blast them while they’re airborne. Wait for them to land, and they’re a whole lot easier to hit.

But what’s even more difficult to shooting airborne clay pigeons? Shooting airborne clay pigeons from the passenger seat of a Ferrari SA Aperta doing donuts, that’s what.

But such a feat is exactly that demonstrated in the video above by master marksman Philip Thurrold, apparently with some success.

Despite being whanged around a private estate in the 661bhp convertible Ferrari, Thurrold – renowned as one of Britain’s top shootists – manages to blast plenty of the pesky pigeons out the sky. That’ll teach ya, tiny discoid distractions!

Top Gear cannot contemplate the level of hand-eye coordination required to obliterate clay pigeons while spinning round in circles. Given Top Gear struggles to pat its head and rub its belly simultaneously, Top Gear suspects this is one extreme sport it should give a wide berth.

Now then. Empty country estate. Supercar being driven hard. High-grade cinematography. Anyone suspect the TaxTheRich boys might be behind this escapade?
