Video: Alpine A110 vs Monte Carlo rally stage

Recently, we drove the all new Alpine A110. As you may have read already, it’s a cracking car. For the magazine feature we wanted to do more than just drive it, though. We wanted to take it somewhere that resonated with the brand and what it’s trying to achieve.

Alpine has a tough job on its hands. The badge doesn’t mean much to people since the Renault-owned firm hasn’t built a car for over 20 years. But if you care about the history, about what the new A110 stands for, then you’ll appreciate why we took it to the Monte Carlo rally stages in the south east corner of France.

Alpine has always made light, nimble cars. Founded in 1955 by Jean Redele, the firm was named for the type of roads he wanted his cars to excel on. As statements of intent go, that’s a pretty potent one. So off we went to some of the tightest, most twisting roads to be found anywhere. And while we were there shooting stills for the magazine we thought it would be a shame not to make a film to go with it. We hope you enjoy it.
