Listen to the BMW CSL Hommage concept

With ‘3.0' in its name, we'd suspect BMW's new CSL Hommage concept harbours some kind of straight-six under the bonne.

And though the company hasn't revealed exactly what powertrain lurks beneath the wide-arched, yellow-hued instrument of history and carbon fibre reinforced plastic, it doesn't sound half bad.

The 3.0 CSL Hommage concept was, of course, unveiled at last weekend's Villa d'Este concours event - a traditional hunting ground for rogue BMW concepts - and we've now got the chance to have a little listen to the big Beemer as it clears its throat.

Admittedly, it's not the shoutiest video in the world, but it's worth a quick listen. If you skip to around 1m 07s, it gives out the gentlest of bellows. Some off-throttle pops occur, and they are excellent.
