707bhp Hellcat pulls the mother of all burnouts
The SRT Challenger has a most excellent name. It is called the ‘Hellcat'. It also has a most excellent horsepower output. It produces 707bhp. Now, we discover it has a most excellent ability to DESTROY ALL TYRES.
In this new video, kindly filmed by avid YouTube enthusiast Lance Miller, we see SRT CEO and senior vice president of design at Chrysler, Ralph Gilles, take his company's new baby for a little spin.
Only the spin happens without really moving that much. At the 2014 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals event, Mr Gilles displays just how much the new ‘Hellcat' enjoys playing with all of its 707 horsepowers.
Oh, that's right, with 707bhp, the new SRT Hellcat is the most powerful production muscle car in the history of muscle cars. It uses a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine which also serves up a handy 650lb ft of torque, too.
Two performance metrics Mr Gilles is keen to exploit on a drag strip. By DESTROYING ALL TYRES. Seriously, this is how you do a burnout.
