This wonderful Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI could be yours, if you’ve got £550k in loose change
Its screaming naturally aspirated V6 will get you to 62 in under three seconds, and likely *all* the attention on the way there too
Race-bred Alfa Romeo V6s are special things… when they work. They sound raw. Visceral. Sometimes, they even produce the numbers to match. So when Milan’s finest decided to slot one into a relatively modest 155 saloon and enter the world’s touring car scene, fireworks were… sort of a given.
And that’s exactly what happened, with the various iterations fielded between 1992 and 1996 finding victories in every class in which they entered, resulting in multiple championship wins around Europe including Germany, Italy and Spain.
We’d like to snap you out of your trance for a moment to highlight why we’re telling you all this in the first place: a 1994 example has just been put up for auction on RM Sotheby’s, with a pre-sale estimate valuation of between £550,000 and £600,000 when it crosses the block towards the end of July. Not entirely bonkers, given what you’re getting in return.
The outrageously low stance and super aggressive body kit are complemented by a naturally-aspirated, 2.5-litre displacement of Alfa’s V6. It sends around 420bhp to all four wheels, resulting in a sub-three-second sprint to 62mph en route to a Vmax of 190. At least we think it does.
The uncertainty comes because no details have actually been posted about the car on the listing page at the time of writing. But something tells us that won’t matter too much, since any iteration of the 155 V6 TI is pretty desirable.
Reckon you’d put in a bid if you had the money, or are there any other touring cars that would take precedence?
