Spend 50 grand on this gigantic wing and get a 1,101bhp Audi S2 for free
It’s also got an upgraded suspension and differentials, so it’s not just in pursuit of straight-line speed
The Audi S2: the car which kickstarted Audi’s ‘S’ range of sporty performance models and one of the coolest ‘liftback’ coupes created. But if the standard thing seems a bit too docile for your taste, how’s this modified track version which produces 1,101bhp at a peak boost of 2.4 bar? Yeah, thought so.
The monster behind all this grunt is a 2.5-litre inline five built by VS-Motor Norway, which features custom headers, pistons, rods and a billet crank. There’s also a 72mm turbo attached, which probably wheezes and whistles like the very best official Audi race cars too.
Channelling all this power is a six-speed, straight-cut, short-shift transmission and three-plate clutch pairing, with a stronger set of front/rear differentials bolted on. Combined with the new stabiliser bars, support arms and rebuilt suspension, this S2 should corner better than a Wolfhound on slicks.
The exterior also has a few modifications to signal its intent; the aftermarket bonnet features a series of aggressive circular vents on either corner. Then there’s the side-exit exhaust and headlights which, er, don’t exist. The most blatant giveaway is that rear wing, which wouldn’t look out of place on Air Force One, let alone a 33-year-old Audi.
Interested? A bid of around £50,000 should be enough to convince the seller to part ways.
