Here are 10 used coupes for under £5k we found this week
Want something a bit more left-field? Here are some that won’t break the bank

Peugeot RCZ
Still looks good 15 years on since we first saw it. From the sweeping body and chunky hips to the lack of obnoxious grille, this one’s up for a smidge under budget and has just 38k on the clock. It’s brand new for crying out loud.

Here’s a fourth-generation Camaro with a two-tone finish, chrome taillights and a pair of lengthy exhausts out back, from which a V6-orchestrated melody will emerge. Your £4.2k outlay also includes a detachable glass roof and a full leather cabin, plus Z28-style alloys to add a bit more substance to the 191bhp beneath the bonnet. Nice.
Vauxhall Calibra
Or if you want a V6 that isn’t quite as shouty, here’s a Calibra. The metallic green exterior is paired with a cream leather interior, where you’ll also find heated seats, white dials and green LED lighting. You’d struggle to land another example that remains in such stellar condition for the price of a one-week family holiday to Barbados.

We miss Saab, but thankfully the used car wilderness has no shortage of 9-3 Turbos. There’s an exhaustive list of work that's been carried out to keep this one fresh, including new shocks, springs and struts, so it should remain a most excellent budget motorway cruiser.
Renault Avantime
The Avantime was designed to be all the body styles rolled into one, including a coupe, and what a fabulous creation it is. You’ll have more space than a three-bed, along with a handy 210bhp. More importantly, this remains one of the great cult cars of the 21st century… because it’s a bit weird. And we think it’s better for it.
Mitsubishi FTO
At the time of writing, the highest bid on this Mitsubishi FTO sits at exactly £5,000. Small wonder it’s being watched by so many people too: it’s the ‘GR’ spec V6 so it puts out just shy of 168bhp, though it does have the four-speed auto instead of the sought-after manual five. See past this small hiccup and you’ll land yourself a former Japanese Car of the Year winner.
Ford Probe
Ford is estimated to have sold just 15,000 Probes in the UK over three years, and of those, only 152 were documented to be on the road last summer according to How Many Left. That makes them rarer than three Premier League points for Southampton these days.

Hyundai Coupe
Surely a car named the ‘Coupe’ deserves a spot on a list of, er, coupes. The handsome Hyundai also gave us a preview of things to come from the South Korean marque, which is creating some of the best-looking products in the game right now. This might just have been the turning point.

Like the Avantime (albeit not quite as drastically), the Xsara isn’t your typical coupe, but a hatchback-coupe combo. The standard car won’t raise pulses, but this week’s wildcard is no standard car: here lies an example with spot lamps, a roll cage and four-point harnesses. In other words, a rally car for the road.
