Hennessey reveals $3m+ ‘Stealth Series’ edition of its 1,817bhp Venom F5
And to nobody’s surprise, the three special editions have all sold out
Transforming a big, shouty, fire-breathing American hypercar into a stealthier, track-focused toy takes some doing. Around 2,350 hours of doing, as it turns out. This is Hennessey’s Venom F5 ‘Stealth Series’ car.
Only three of these two-seat hyperthings will be built – from the Venom F5’s total production run of 99 cars – spun off the Venom’s ‘Revolution’ track-honed spec, and to nobody’s surprise, they’ve already sold out. Which gives us ample time to run through the changes.
Nothing mechanical of course, because with a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V8 nicknamed ‘Fury’ punching out 1,817bhp and a blood-curdling soundtrack, it doesn’t need it. The changes instead come via exposed carbon fibre from front to back: the front splitter, mirrors, roof scoop, engine cover, side intakes, sills, rear wing and rear diffuser are all covered in it.
The panels are all hand-painted too – this Revolution Roadster on show bears an ‘elemental green’ paintjob – together with gold accents that again, run front to back. There are matte-tinted wheels, black calipers, more carbon fibre on the inside, charcoal leather, some embroidery and perhaps the most important addition – an interior plaque that shows your Venom is better than other Venoms. Oh, and badges that read 'Stealth'... on a stealthier hypercar.
“The real selling point for our customers is the craftsmanship, quality, beauty, and attention to detail,” said John Hennessey. “Combining all these elements into the Stealth Series creates a unique art piece that celebrates the finest craftsmanship alongside raw, visceral, unapologetic American horsepower.”
American horsepower able to fire the Revolution around COTA in 2m 10.9s, and a (current) vmax of 271.6mph. We know Hennessey’s gunning for 300mph+ in an F5, which’ll take some doing...
