Almost half of C8 Corvettes sold this year were convertibles
Blimey, 42 per cent of 2021 model year C8s had a folding roof…
Chevrolet recently revealed that so far this year, 42 per cent of C8 Corvette buyers opted for the convertible over its hard-topped coupe sibling.
Harlan Charles, Chevrolet’s C8 Corvette product marketing manager, was giving a Corvette update at the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky, which you can see in full by clicking these blue words if you so desire.
The C8-gen is the first Corvette to get a folding metal roof, but Chevrolet maintains that you can still get two sets of golf clubs in the boot even with the roof down and the 6.2-litre V8 behind the passengers. We’d imagine that’s very important to open-topped Corvette buyers…
With a total of over 26,000 C8 sales in the 2021 model year, that means roughly 11,000 customers spent an extra $7,500 on the added headroom.
Why do we think it was so popular, folks?
