The 1,233bhp Czinger 21C hypercar now comes in slippery V Max form
Want your hybrid hypercar to have a little bit more in terms of top speed? You’re braver than us…
The problem with a 1,233bhp V8 hybrid hypercar like the Czinger 21C is, well, it’s just a little bit slow isn’t it? Granted, a 0-62mph time of 1.9 seconds and a top speed of around 253mph might not sound all that pedestrian, but there’s always room for more.
Welcome then, to the Czinger 21C V Max.
Now, this iteration of the wild 3D printed hypercar uses the same powertrain as the bewinged car we drove back in December 2021. That means a 2.9-litre V8 that revs to 11,000rpm powers the rear axle, while two electric motors power the front for four-wheel drive and the aforementioned total of 1,233bhp.
However, almost all of the exterior aero addendums have been removed to create the V Max. There’s no rear wing and no winglets above the front splitter – instead you get slippery carbon wheel covers and a properly swoopy longtail that gives this LA-born hypercar proper McLaren Speedtail vibes.
Czinger isn’t quoting too many numbers just yet, but it does say that the V Max “is leading the industry in classic hypercar metrics such as 0 to 60mph, 0 to 250mph to 0 and the 1⁄4 mile”. Oh, and back in 2021 we were told that a low drag version of the 21C could hit 281mph. Yikes.
There are still plans for only 80 21Cs to be built, so if you’re on the list you’ll need to pick between high downforce or low drag. A tricky decision, no doubt. Worth remembering that both get the super cool fighter jet-style 1+1 seating layout though, so whichever you go for you’ll be able to bring someone along for the ride.
What do we think, folks?
