Toyota news - Toyota's sporty show-stoppers - 2006
Toyota flexed its muscles at the Geneva show with this funky sports-themed concept.
Cunningly called the Aygo for Sports, the two-seater is based on the current T180 model, but it does without a roof.
As befits a car that's aimed at the beach party crowd, the concept features radical new materials such as Neoprene, and a teak floor gives the cabin a nautical feel.
If that doesn't float your boat, there are 17-inch alloys, LED light clusters and an Ocean Blue paint finish.
Toyota continued its sporty theme at the show with Yaris and RAV4 concepts, both with new styling and a 'Sport' tag.
The Yaris T Sport points the way to the next production sports model, which is due out next year. The concept features a new 1.8-litre petrol engine and 17-inch alloys.
The beefy RAV4 Sports is powered by a 2.2-litre D-4D diesel unit, tuned to deliver 201bhp and 332lb ft of torque.
Reinforced shock absorbers and dark tinted glass complete the look.
