The Stig is heading to Scotland's Ignition show

TG magazine's supercar grid to be headed up by our tame racing driver

Published: 19 May 2016

The Stig will head to Scotland later this summer as the star guest of the three-day Ignition 'Festival of Motoring' show.

Our tame racing driver will take charge of the Top Gear magazine 'Supercar Grid', performing hot laps over the course of the weekend, in a plethora of sastonishing machinery.

"You seldom see cars like the Lamborghini Huracan, Audi R8 V10 and McLaren 675LT out on the road," explains TG magazine's Editor-in-Chief, Charlie Turner, "but thanks to Top Gear magazine, you can go one better than that. Come to our grid at Ignition and not only can you get up close to some of the latest and greatest cars from around the world including the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Ariel Nomad, Mercedes AMG GTS, the iconic Mustang V8 and many more, but you will also be able to see and hear them in action."

The event will take place at Glasgow’s Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre between 5-7 August, promising much tyre-smoking hoonery. On top of the The Stig's hot laps, David Coulthard will drive the RB7 Formula One car on Saturday and Sunday, while rally legend Jimmy McRae will be demonstrating son Colin’s championship-winning Subaru Impreza. Plus, the Top Gear Live Stunt Team will also be on hand.
