Five more rivals for the Jaguar F-Type SVR
Seen the Jag from Sunday night’s show? Here’s what it will go up against
On episode 5 of all new Top Gear TV, Rory Reid pitted the Jaguar F-Type SVR against history: in 1961, Jaguar legend Norman Dewis piloted an E-Type overnight to Geneva for its world premiere. Reid had a similar mission: to deliver the one and only F-Type SVR to Geneva for its worldwide reveal. Did he make it? Find out here (if you're in the UK).
The SVR doesn't just face a fight with time, though, but it has a pretty brutal battle back in the, um, 'real' world of 560bhp+ two-seat super-fast coupes that cost more than £100k. Yep, get ready for some sensible consumer advice in the shape of five more rivals the F-Type SVR faces.
We've picked some proper fast ones too, so have a look through and let us know where you'd put your money. Oh, and don't forget to read our first drive of the new F-Type SVR here.

Though the AMG GT 'S' matches the SVR on price, it's the banshee new GT 'R' that more closely matches the SVR's philosophy. Still, 503bhp and a 0-62mph time of less than four seconds for the GT S isn't to be sniffed at.
Porsche 911 Turbo S
OK, so the Turbo S is considerably more expensive than the F-Type SVR, with prices starting from £145k, but it's also a little bit faster to 62mph, too - over half a second faster to 62mph, actually. Traction, innit.

The Aston is again more expensive than the Jag, is down on power, down on performance and uses a considerably older chassis. But, it's got a socking great V12, comes with a manual gearbox, and remains one of the prettiest cars ever built by a human.
Audi R8 V10
We're talking about the non-Plus version here - it's only a few grand more than the Jag, and though slightly down on the SVR's 567bhp (at 540bhp), it'll still go from 0-62mph in 3.5secs and top out at 199mph.
Nissan GT-R Nismo
We haven't driven this one yet, as it was only just announced at the end of May. So we don't fully know the price, but do know that it'll come with 592bhp, go from 0-62mph in under three seconds, and sit on the new, stiffer 2017 GT-R bodyshell. We have driven that car, and it's quite fast.
