Top Gear magazine on the iPad: IT’S ALIVE!
The new Top Gear magazine App for the iPad has landed.
It’s the first fully interactive version of the world’s greatest car magazine, launching with our ‘Cars of 2012’ Awards issue. And it’s a good ‘un: more from the TG telly boys, more jaw-dropping photography, and more… loudness. It’s the culmination of a lot of head scratching, some shouting, and of course, months of dedicated work.
IMPORTANT: If you have previously subscribed to the digital edition, or if you have previously bought a digital issue from us, you will need to update the app and don’t forget to restore all of your previous purchases (instructions are at the bottom of the page)
Packed inside you’ll find HD videos and galleries, giving you the chance
to drool over your favourite supercar from every angle, there’s an interactive
content wheel to spin, navigating to the latest news, reviews and our Top Gear
Garage.
Plus, you can fire up the engines of our cover stars by tapping the
screen, get exclusive offers only available on the iPad, and read our Buyer’s
Guide, giving you all the info on every new car on sale today. Phew. Sounds
like a lot, doesn’t it?
That’s because it is. We can’t stop playing with it, and we made it. And
now you’ve even got the perfect excuse to buy an iPad for Christmas.
Enjoy the (expanded) issue!

In order to give you the fully integrated, interactive and terribly shiny experience of the new app, we’ve had to move it off the 1980’s ZX-81 Spectrum that the old edition has been running from. As a result, current digital subs or those that have purchased previous digital issues need to update their version of the app. This might make it look like back issues have wandered off – this is not true – they’re just hiding in your memory.
If you click ‘restore all purchases’ (which you can find by pressing the cog on the top right of the home screen) then all the previous Top Gear magazines that you downloaded will magically re-appear… Though they might look terribly flat next to the new version.
We hope you like it!
