The TG Winter Games! New Top Gear mag out now

15 cars, 1 snowmobile, 7,567bhp and a frozen lake… what could possibly go wrong?

Published: 22 Feb 2018

Welcome everyone, to the March 2018 issue of Top Gear magazine, and our Winter Games. A celebration of the most fun you can have in a car with the lowest level of jeopardy.

There is science to our madness. Few things are a greater leveller than zero grip – and the results are fascinating. Principally because the machinery we’ve corralled together on the ice is nothing short of astonishing.

There’s a supercar triple test in the shape of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante, McLaren 570S Spider and Honda NSX. There’s a test of the brand new Aston Martin Vantage and Jaguar I-Pace. We pit Tesla’s wild P100D against the doyen of drag races, the Nissan GT-R.

Want some weirdness? We pit the rather large Range Rover Sport SVR against Suzuki’s charming little Ignis, while two super-saloon heavyweights battle it out on the 1,500-mile journey home in the real fight of the century: it’s new BMW M5 vs Mercedes-AMG E63 S.

Plus, a snowmobile happens. And a rally car. And an Ariel Nomad. Pick up a copy of the latest issue to find out how they all fared.

Elsewhere in the issue, you’ll find first drives on all the new cars that matter. This month, we’ve driven the new Renault Megane RS, VW Up GTI, Aston Martin DB11 Volante, Caterham Seven Super Sprint, BMW X2, Volvo XC40, Audi A7 and Nissan Leaf.
