As you may already have seen in our exclusive behind-the-scenes video from the new series of Top Gear, every single aspect of this incredible machine has been designed to trim weight: a plastic windscreen to ergonomic ‘seat’ pads, revolutionary carbon-fibre bodywork to a very minimal dashboard (well, no dashboard, to be more accurate). This car is a statement – a statement from Lamborghini that less is more and the future of performance will come equally from weight reduction as it does from greater power.

The Sesto is also about engagement with the driver. And judging by the grin we cannot remove from Richard’s face, the Sesto might have just achieved its goal...
