New issue out now: TG’s Speed Week 2020

16 contenders, 8,553bhp, nine abandoned tents… and only one winner

Published: 07 Oct 2020

Like all great Top Gear ideas, this one was half-baked and made us laugh a lot, so we pushed the button without really thinking it through. Why stay in a concrete box on some soulless industrial estate when we can sleep beneath canvas, next to the cars, right at the end of the pitlane? So what if sleep deprivation ravages our judgement and we have to ‘go’ in a hole in the ground? This will be a collective experience, a chance to bond over our shared love of driving. To hell with a little weather along the way, we’ll all be in the same boat. Quite literally as it turns out…

Welcome to the new issue of Top Gear magazine and yep – it’s Speed Week. Our annual festival of fast features 16 cars, 8,553bhp and one very soggy campsite. This is not one to be missed.

We’ve got a whole heap of Speed Week 2020 content for you in this month’s issue, and we even managed to name a lone champion, but there’s also news of the new Ford Puma ST and our drives of the McLaren 620R, the Volkswagen ID3, and the fancy new Rolls-Royce Ghost.

That’s not all of course – we’ve also got an update on Mark’s garage, news from our long-term test cars and Wookie driving pretty much every Mercedes ever made. We did say this one was special…
