New issue out now: TG celebrates 60 years of Lamborghini

We celebrate Lambo’s 60th birthday with a V12 party. Just hope someone remembered the cake…

Published: 13 Jun 2023

If Ferrari is your annoyingly handsome overachieving cousin, and Porsche the naturally sporty sibling with multiple PhDs, then Lamborghini is the irresponsible uncle – too many drinks in, talking louder than necessary, on the brink of embarrassing but always the life and soul with a story to tell.

What sticks out combing back through 60 years of Italy’s most consistently outrageous carmaker is the variation. This isn’t a catalogue of hit after heavy hit, there are duds, moments of madness and driving dynamics from the Stone Age mixed in among some of the most beautiful and visceral motorcars ever made.

So, what better way to celebrate Lambo’s big six-zero than with a proper party. The guests? The entire mid-engine V12 bloodline. Should be a good one.

Yep, you can read our thoughts on every big Lambo in the full feature by grabbing a copy of the latest issue of Top Gear magazine. You can order a single copy to be delivered direct to your door by clicking here, or you can start a subscription to keep them coming every month using this link.

And that’s not all of the Lamborghini content you’ll be getting this month. In the issue we also drive the Huracán Sterrato – a jacked up, armoured, off-road psychopath that starts life as a V10 Huracán then morphs into the type of rally car we’ve all dreamed about, but never really thought would exist. Plus, we’ve gone through all of our favourite Lambo memories, and we’ve condensed the full 60 years of the raging bull into one single page. Impressive.

Away from Lamborghini, we’ve also got a proper luxury barge battle between the old king of the hill – the Mercedes S-Class – and the new kid on the block – the BMW i7. Plus there’s a drive of the new Abarth 500e, and we celebrate yet another birthday as Tesla turns 20. Don’t miss it, folks – pick up your copy here.
