Snapped! More pics of the upcoming BMW X2
Prototype gets yellow, grey and black camouflage for testing, heading your way 2018
The BMW X2 is coming. BMW has released a few new pictures of the X1-based ‘active’ small SUV, ahead of its world premiere, likely in 2018.
We’re told the camo design is based on a digital pattern to help fit into its “future environment” – the city.
Yup, no hubris about all-terrain this, or off-road that: BMW firmly acknowledges that the new X2 will be fit for the “urban jungle”. As mentioned, we reckon it’ll be spun off the X1 platform, also used on the 2 Series GT and Mini Countryman.
It’ll also likely be offered with the X1’s 2.0-litre petrol and diesel offerings, maybe even the 1.5-litre three-pot petrol, too. Expect varying power outputs. If you’re of a particular mindset, you might hopefully expect a fast M Power version, too…
At its Paris Motor Show unveil last year, BMW senior VP Adrian van Hooydonk noted how the concept “displays a new and exciting facet of the BMW brand within the compact segment”.
We’ve slotted in a pic of the original X2 concept too, to get some more perspective. Are you even ready for such a facet?
