Quick! This is your last chance to buy Eric Clapton’s G55 AMG

Elvis and his Cadillacs. John Lennon and his psychedelic Rolls-Royce Phantom V. Eric Clapton and his… G-Wagen? Surely not? 

Yep, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer might be better known for his extensive collection of Ferraris – including the one-off SP12 EC that he had built by Centro Stile Ferrari back in the early 2010s – however, it turns out he also rather liked a G too. 

This particular one was bought new by Clapton in 2002 and is now up for auction on The Market, with an estimate of between €45,000 and €65,000. As you can see, it’s a long-wheelbase V8-engined G55 AMG that was owned from new by Clapton and was specced in left-hand drive so that he could drive out to a house in Provence. Lovely. 

In true rock star spec there are televisions everywhere in the cabin, with a full audio system taking up the boot too. Best be quick if you fancy owning a very boxy slice of rock royalty though – the listing ends at 18:00 UK time on 6 September.
